Malaysia Techlympics 2025 has officially commenced, targeting 1.7 million participants nationwide and expanding its reach to include international contenders. Organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), the program aims to foster a strong science, technology, and innovation (STI) culture among Malaysians aged 7 to 30. Key features include new AI-focused competitions, teacher training, and outreach to underserved communities to ensure inclusivity. The competition will progress through school-level activities, zonal screenings, and will culminate in the National Finals in November.

Minister Chang Lih Kang stated that 4,750 participants from 1,289 teams competed in the two-day National Zone Stage Finals. The initiative included 85 outreach programmes to encourage participation from rural areas. Malaysia Techlympics 2025 also achieved two Malaysia Book of Records for the largest participation in an international youth STEM competition and most drones flown simultaneously indoors.

This initiative is vital for preparing a highly skilled workforce to support Malaysia's ambition of becoming a high-tech nation by 2030.
